SEDUCIONE DE VENEZIA

Two summers I spent in Venice, Italy, inspired Seducione de Venezia. The painting represents taking a walk through Venice in light varying from gray mists and brilliant sunlight to brooding darks of narrow passageways and canals. The work consists of five rows of rice paper arranged on a horizontal grid system with 14 sheets to a row. The 70 papers are saturated with multiple washes of acrylic paint, manipulated by crushing, and backed with linen.
